Teaching has to stem from students’ needs both online and in the lecture room. Despite not sharing a physical location with students, the presence of university lecturer Olli-Pekka Penttinen is felt on his web courses. Students can ask further questions, get feedback, and clarify things which they are not sure about. “The idea is that courses are simply teaching, not online teaching or lecture-based teaching”, he says.
