Stroke is the most common cause of adult disability. Spontaneous recovery is often incomplete. A recent study suggests that the neurotrophic factor MANF could repair brain tissue when administered directly into the brain tissue after stroke. Researchers found the results very encouraging for pursuing the ultimate goal of combating long-term disability in stroke patients.
