Meet the teacher! In 1999, Katri Pynnöniemi was enjoying an August evening in Moscow, while participating in a summer school programme with attendees from around the world. As others headed home, Katri continued her journey by train to Arkhangelsk in northern Russia to gather materials for her master’s thesis. Today, Katri is a researcher and an assistant professor teaching in the Master’s Programme in Russian Studies. “Teaching starts with an in-depth understanding of the subject at hand and an empathic grasp on everything” Applications to our 36 International Master’s Programmes are open from 1 Dec 2021 to 5 Jan 2022.
