According to a research article, psychiatrists and laypeople view mental conditions very differently: the more psychiatric training you had, the more likely you were to consider the conditions diseases. Medicalisation of various problems is not a positive trend because then problems might get solved with an approach that is too reliant on pharmaceuticals.
