BepiColombo has already sent a large number of space selfie broadcasts to delight its audience on Earth. Our researchers have to wait for their data a lot longer. One of their instruments measures the Sun's X-ray radiation and electron and proton emissions. Another instrument is a spectrometer observing the surface of Mercury. The expedition to Mercury is the most extensive endeavour ever conducted by the European Space Agency ESA.
