It might look like a shed on the outside, but in reality, it's our just opened, completely unique, high-tech measurement station that provides data about the climate impact of grass farming! 🤩 Our brand new SMEAR-Agri station continuously monitors CO₂, methane and nitrous oxide emissions and sinks at our research farm in Viikki, Helsinki. Better datasets, more accurate research! 💪 The station is part of our network of SMEAR (Station for Measuring Ecosystem-Atmosphere Relations) stations that provide continuous data streams about climate-related phenomena. SMEAR-Agri is the first station that we have placed on a farm. It will provide a valuable addition to the network. All the measurements are processed and provided as open data to researchers, students and decision makers.
