Autumn seawater doesn’t stop the divers at Tvärminne Zoological Station from going out there! 💪 Research diving is a really important part of our Baltic Sea research. That’s why we’re super happy that we now have the opportunity to establish the Finnish Scientific Diving Academy at Tvärminne. At the helm of the training program, which starts in April 2022, is Australian scientific diver Edd Stockdale. The academy will offer education for both students, to encourage the next generation of marine scientists, professional scientists looking for more advanced specialist training, and citizen scientists interested in developing their research diving skills. Our thanks go out to the Antero and Merja Parma Foundation and Weisell Foundation for an initial three years of funding! 📸: Susanna Mikander.
