Meet the teacher! In 2000, Tiina Airaksinen was studying in Shanghai and learning about the local culture. As a historian, she considers familiarity with the past to be important in order to assess and discuss current life in Asia. Today, Tiina teaches among other topics, the history and present situation of China, as well as Asian religions and politics in the Master’s Programme in Intercultural Encounters. ”I’m focused on establishing a connection with my students. I try to determine who they are as individuals. For example, I think about their potential professional positions and the skills that could benefit them.” The applications to our 35 International Master’s Programmes are open from 1 Dec 2020 to 15 Jan 2021.
