Meet the teacher! In 1996, Jaanika Blomster was collecting algae samples for her research work from the shores of Northern Ireland, Ireland and Scotland. From fishers in her family to countless summers spent in the archipelago, she considers the sea to be in her genes. Today, Jaanika is a marine biologist who teaches in the Master’s Programme in Environmental Change and Global Sustainability. “I enjoy field courses, and they provide me with energy for the rest of my teaching. At the research station, I remember that you actually do learn by doing.” The applications to our 35 International Master’s Programmes are open from 1 Dec 2020 to 15 Jan 2021.
