Meet the teacher! In 1993, Maijaliisa Erkkola studied nutrition science at the University of Helsinki. She never planned to have an academic career, and as a child wanted to become a farmer just like her mother, whom she admired. Today, Maijaliisa, or ’Maikki’ to her students, teaches nutrition science in the Master’s Programme in Human Nutrition and Food-Related Behaviour. ”When studies cause anxiety, I give my students a novel to read. With renewed energy, they can then return to science.” The applications to our 35 International Master’s Programmes are open from 1 Dec 2020 to 15 Jan 2021.
