Dare to Learn is a learning festival that is looking for a solution to the global crisis in learning. It started out as a gift for Finland's centenary from the students of the University of Helsinki. “I want learning to spread around society and into people’s lives, as the quickening pace of changes makes it important to all. Learning is going to become a way of life!” says Akseli Huhtanen, CEO of Dare to Learn.
“If you want to be the best in the world, you need to work with the best in the world.” –Juhani Damski, Director General of Finnish Meteorological Institute. Today we celebrate science with the opening ceremony of the new Institute for Atmospheric and Earth System Research INAR at Think Corner. The INAR Climate Festival started with a morning coffee with scientists followed by the Opening Ceremony incl. speakers such as INAR Director and Academician Markku Kulmala and President Tarja Halonen. The day continues with stories from scientists around the globe as well as interesting discussions on how Finland got to the top of atmospheric research. INAR is a multi- and interdisciplinary research unit based in physics, chemistry, meteorology, forest sciences, environmental sciences and social sciences in the University of Helsinki. Learn from this top research unit by taking their course “Air Quality in China” at the Helsinki Summer School on 7-23 Aug 2018. http://bit.ly/2KSRiPS
