“The field is important because it allows new discoveries in therapeutics and diagnostics that can be used in the health sector to help people with different diseases. And the study environment is amazing. It is relaxed but at the same time very fast-paced with loads of interesting courses. We interact with real researchers and discuss different topics with them instead of just having lectures. In addition, there are many employment opportunities both in research and in the private sector.” Ronja Hotakainen is a student in the International Master’s Programme in Translational Medicine at the University of Helsinki. In the programme, you learn to facilitate new therapies and medical procedures by implementing research findings in patient care, and by applying clinical data in research. This requires understanding of both science and medicine. You also have ample opportunities for direct interactions with both researchers and clinicians to adopt and practice interdisciplinary communication skills. You can apply to our International Master’s Programmes as of 3 December 2018 until 11 January 2019.
To learn, we need to compare. Important discoveries could be found on a single sample. Opening keynote by @APalotie talking about @FinnGen_FI research project. @FIMM_UH #rsd2018
