Meet the teacher! In 1990, Olli-Pekka Penttinen was in Berlin attending the first conference trip for his PhD thesis. The Berlin Wall had come down mere months ago, and there was still rubble near the Brandenburg Gate, where he is pictured. Today, Olli-Pekka is a biologist teaching in the Master’s Programme in Environmental Change and Global Sustainability. He is a university lecturer who investigates the effect of chemicals on the environment, and transferred his teaching to the web long before the coronavirus crisis. “Teaching has to stem from students’ needs. My aim is to offer something to everyone on the web: a variety of teaching and learning opportunities to students of different kinds.” The applications are still open to our 35 International Master’s Programmes. Apply before 15 Jan 2021.
